Anne Whelan, where do I begin? In my k-12 journey I have had some pretty amazing teachers! And I really can go on and on about each and every single one. But, Anne made such a huge impact on me in my high school years, as well as now.
I had Anne for theatre arts and music. I didn’t have much confidence when it came to my acting abilities or singing publicly! But, lo and behold, she was there to encourage me and tell me to give it up and not be so foolish! And I needed that.
She has taught me so many lessons in life and I could never repay her for all she has done for me. High school was such a rough three years … and I honestly don’t know if I would have made it through without her love and support.
Anne always goes above and beyond for her students! There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for us. She forms special bonds with each student, and friendships last even outside of school and in our life journey. I think it is so important to have a teacher who can be such a great supporter and friend. To be strict, but still encouraging and caring, someone who pushes you beyond your limits because she knows you are worth it and she knows you CAN do it!!
And now, as I have been a graduate since 2007 … she continues to be supportive and still teaches me whether she realizes it or not. She made high school a lot easier on so many students, especially me. And she has touched so many lives! Just ask anyone who has ever had her and they will tell you the same! Love her to pieces!
