Teachers change lives every day

Thank you, Mrs. Mullett

Author: Elizabeth Butt
Teacher's name: Sherry Mullett
Teacher's school: Ralph Laite Academy

School wasn’t always the best experience for me, mainly because I have a learning disability and didn’t learn at the same pace as others. In my entire time attending school, there is no other teacher that stands out in my memory more than Mrs. Sherry Mullett, my Grade Five teacher at Ralph Laite Academy in Lewisporte, NL from 1992-93. She encouraged me every step of the way that year and ignited my love for reading and writing, which stays with me to this very day.

Mrs. Mullett always told me I was as capable and as smart as the others. She always stayed in touch with me through the years, in person and on Facebook, and she was so proud when I finally got my High School Diploma in 2008. Now I am an Honour Roll student at College of The North Atlantic and to this day, her continued words of support and encouragement are inspirational.

Thank you Sherry for always being an influence on my educational endeavours. You made a huge impact in my life.
