Junior high was a really rough time for me, as it is for a lot of kids. I faced a lot of bullying and I didn’t know many people in my homeroom. Science class was the only class I ever looked forward to. I had been interested in science my entire life, but there was something special about Mrs. Clancy’s science classes. She walked into her class every day with a huge smile on her face, and treated all of us like we were her friends. She always made sure that we were engaged in what she was teaching and always tried to make even the most boring of lessons fun and interesting.
Being able to go to her about any problems, whether it was for clarification on an assignment or an issue with another student and everything in between, she was always there to listen and help you out in any way she could. Teachers like her don’t come around often, and I feel blessed that I was able to have her for three years and still get to go back and visit her to this day. I don’t think I would have gotten through those years as successfully as I did without her and I don’t think I could ever thank her enough for what she has done for me and so many others throughout her teaching career!
